Workshop: "Getting Started with Kanban"

Track: Getting Started with Kanban / Time: Tuesday 09:45 - 17:30 / Location: Room 9

Kanban is a great process for teams who want to enhance visibility and balance out workload in order to ensure that all activities are value-adding. Kanban is especially good for teams who cannot plan two weeks ahead and teams who need to respond to new requirements on a daily basis. This is very often the case within software operation and support but many software development projects face similar demands.

This training course gives you a brief introduction to the principles behind Kanban and teaches you how to build a kanban board, which is the central tool within Kanban. By the end of this course you will have the basic knowledge and tools to get started with Kanban and know which direction to strive for.

The course covers:

•         Visualize the workflow
•         Limit Work In Progress (WIP)
•         Make Process Policies Explicit
•         Manage Flow
•         Improve collaboratively

Requirements:

The course is aimed at all software professionals with an interest in optimizing their workflow. No previous knowledge of Kanban or similar methods are required.
